Clinique Black Honey Lipstick

Summer may be a bit of wash out but from where I’m sitting – researching A/W ’11 fashion and make up – autumn is looking good.

For this autumn (which appears to start on August 1st*) Clinique has revamped – and I use that word deliberately – its iconic berry lip shade Black Honey  (originally launched in 1971 and something of a cult classic).

Now available as a Dual Ended Almost Lipstick and Long Last Glosswear, Black Honey delivers a deep berry stained effect. Its dewy finish may make it more wearable – and flattering – than a solid colour of this depth but don’t think for a minute that it is any more innocent for that.

For a slick of deliciously dark Black Honey gives you the berry stained, bitten lipped look of a fecund maiden who’s spent the season of mists and mellow fruitlfulness frolicking in a haystack with the Poacher’s wayward son. Way, as they say, to go.

*Clinique Black Honey Dual Ended Almost Lipstick and Long Last Glosswear £17 is available at Clinique counters from August 1st as part of the Black Honey range.
